DIYI truly believes every adult should photograph and film their kids underwater in a pool setting. With these images, you have the ability to change a child's life. If you don't have a camera that shoots underwater, all you have to do is contact us and we will find the nearest scuba diving shop to you so we can arrange a film shoot for you and your child!

Giving this gift of underwater photo and video is the greatest gift you can give any child. In Ocean Annie's own words, she tells the story of why she wants all children to be filmed underwater.


 

"I went to visit my sister and her family when my first niece, Hannah Rose, was only two years old (she is now 8 and still watches herself!). My sister had a fear of open water but did not want to instill it in her children, so she promised herself she would take them to swimming lessons when they were babies. When my niece, Hannah, was in and around a pool, she LOVED it, just as all kids love water as long as they are not taught fear. I brought my camera and housing along on my first visit and I filmed nearly fifteen minutes of my niece jumping into the pool and playing with her parents. Kids are so impressionable. Many children are taught to fear water because of bad experiences usually due to an adult's fear or an accident at a young age. This often happens subliminally in ways adults do not realize. Many times parents are uncomfortable or even scared around water, so naturally the child becomes scared of water.

Of all the places I have experienced, of all the animals, situations, people I have filmed, the most joy I ever had in filming underwater was this video of my niece Hannah Rose LOVING the water. I am most proud of Hannah in the pool because I gave her the grandest gift of her life, to watch herself enjoying the water, being fearless, experiencing the ability to watch herself in a way she could only imagine.

Hannah Rose and I went back to her Grandfather's house after we filmed her at the pool. We sat around the television, plugged my video camera into the set and watched Hannah watch herself in the pool. To this day, I have never heard joy in a child's heart as the joy she had as she watched herself having fun under the water. She is now eight years old and is my little mermaid! I have gratitude that her mom did not instill fears into her children, yet was able to overcome them together with her children."

DIYI wants you to be able to give the gift of video to your children. It doesn't have to be in the water. It can be from land, but if you take them into a world that they can only imagine and give them something different, it makes it even more powerful.
