Reef Check Foundation is holding its annual "Reef Rescue Gala" on November 15th at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach.
Come celebrate International Year of the Reef and honor filmmaker Greg MacGillivray for his dedication to the Ocean and preserving its environment. Included in this fun and inspiring event will be a live dive in the main aquarium tank, hula dancers, didgeridoo demonstrations, live Caribbean steel drums and a Surfers' Hall of Fame hosted by Body Glove International. Greg MacGillivray, President and co-founder of MacGillivray Freeman Films, is being honored for his dedication to and passion for the ocean and environmental concerns. MacGillivray has dedicated his company to producing at least 10 IMAX filmes themed to ocean and fresh water conservation. His filmmaking career spans more than 40 years and includes The Living Sea, Dolphins, Everest, the most successful IMAX Theatre Film in history and invited Reef Check to help with Coral Reef Adventure.

Reef Check Foundation is an international non-profit organization dedicated to conservation of two ecosystems: tropical coral reefs and California rocky reefs. Headquartered in Los Angeles with volunteer teams in more than 80 countries, Reef Check works to create partnerships among community volunteers, government agencies, businesses, universities and other non-profits. Reef Check Foundations many goals include educating the public about the value of reef ecosystems and the current crisis affecting marine life while creating solutions for our future.

Dive Into Your Imagination supports both of these organizations mission. CEO and Founder of Dive Into Your Imagination, Annie Crawley, viewed her first MacGillivray movie “To Fly” in 1979 at Great America in Chicago, and she will never forget this experience. “Greg MacGillivray has changed the way millions of people viewed our world and continues to astonish us as he combines science with adventure!
