During the past couple of weeks, Dive Into Your Imagination, traveled around the Central Coast and brought entertainment and education to many who live miles from the Ocean, yet have never seen it before. She encourages children and adults to use their imagination because whether you live in the middle of a desert or near the coast, everything we do on land, affects our Ocean!
In Santa Maria, an inland agricultural city, Ocean Annie spoke to more than 600 people on her Visions of the Sea. Intertwined in the presentation of the Ocean was Annie Crawley’s motivation and inspirational messages. She encouraged all to face fear, False Evidence Appearing Real, and let education be the tool to help. “When we feel anxious or afraid, this should be a trigger that we do not understand something and by gaining knowledge and understanding our fear simply disappears. Fear teaches us lessons if we are willing to explore and learn from it!” With video and photography from around the world, Ocean Annie captivates the audience and inspires them to learn more!
Ocean Annie also uses her adventures as a scuba diver to engage the audience and help teach, “When underwater I am always safe. I have been trained and am a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer. We learn that if we ever encounter a problem to Stop, Think, Breathe and Act.” In her presentations when children ask her about poisonous jellyfish or diving with great white sharks, Ocean Annie can dispel fear and help another generation of Ocean Explorers to use their imagination and dream of the world they want to see.
In addition to Santa Maria, Ocean Annie spoke at Roosevelt School in Santa Barbara. The school hired Ocean Annie as a gift to the students after a week long of STAR testing.
The goal of the Dive Into Your Imagination and of Annie Crawley’s work is to inspire everyone to love our ocean because we protect what we love. Our ocean is responsible for 70% of the oxygen and all of the fresh water we need. In loving our ocean and treating it right, we are loving ourselves. The relationship we have with nature and environment is a direct reflection to how we treat ourselves.
