Dive Into Your Imagination thanks our number one Ocean Advocate this week, Steve Drogin! He has shared Ocean Life A to Z and the award winning Dive Into Your Imagination series with children around the world. From inner city children in San Diego to Kuna Indians living in the San Blas Islands of Panama, Steve has generously purchased and given away these products to kids who have never owned a book in their life. In addition, he has donated DVDs to schools so children can see what lies below the surface of the ocean. He shares the passion of the Ocean with children while giving the gift of the Ocean!
 Steve Drogin was certified by the original San Diego Divers in 1958 when he was a child and 50 years later, he still has a love affair with the Ocean. This amazing ocean advocate has been speaking to children around the world. He has made over 5,000 dives worldwide, and his underwater photographs have been extensively published.
He is a resident of La Jolla, CA and continues to travel the world with his wife Hiro, diving, taking photographs, and presenting slide shows to dive clubs and children all over the US. He is also fortunate enough to own one of the deepest diving private submersibles in the world, Deep See. This submarine is featured in the award winning Dive Into Diversity DVD so you can see the Deep See in action!
To date, his submarine has made over 800 dives. The submersible has been a primary asset on six different research expeditions, and over 100 dives have been made for science. The submarine is equipped with the latest technologies, including a custom-designed and built articulated sampling arm, and a custom Gates Underwater housing for the Sony HD camera. Steve has been traveling through the US and lecturing to children everywhere.
