ADULT JUROR COMMENTS

Ocean Annie excels in teaching about marine animals and environments. I can't imagine a child who would not be inspired to want to see these creatures first-hand.

Explore Coral Reefs is great education on the different species of animals that populate the coral reefs. One example is when Ocean Annie explains the symbiotic relationship between fish who clean fish and the fish who are cleaned. She is very good at breaking down concepts and explaining their relevance on a school age level!

The cinematography captures the true natures of the creatures. The easiest way I've seen for children to learn about the ocean. Teaches about how a scuba diver dresses and communicates with hand signals under water. We learn about how fish find their food and about the "fish bath" where they help each other get clean.

Live-action, animation and computer generated effects blend to create the diving experience. Overall, this is a great educational program on the different species of animals that populate the coral reef and extremely entertaining.

The program is rich in information about marine biology. Reflects the idea that children can be given good size portions of information and challenging vocabulary words, even at earlier ages.

KIDS JURORS COMMENTS AGED 3-10

More than 75 kids reviewed the program, Explore Coral Reefs and they all wanted to watch it again. The kids liked learning all about the scuba equipment and scuba diving in the special features section of the DVD. Here are a few of the responses from parents and their children:

We all really enjoyed the program! They shouted AGAIN! AGAIN!

It really made me want go into the water like Ocean Annie did. I’m so jealous of her and want to learn to dive and see all of the animals for myself!!!

We liked giving the sea lion claps!

I like the footage underwater, I liked the hairy frogfish walk on their fins.

I learned that you should not touch anything when you go scuba diving or else you can hurt the fish.

My favorite part was when the dolphins gave each other gifts of coral.

The production of the underwater filming was amazing!

We want to watch it again!

I like learning about how the animals live. Ocean Annie was funny as she talked, she was great at explaining (the ocean)!

We loved the baby cuttlefish inside their eggs. That was AMAZING!

We so much want to go scuba diving now!

We have to protect the Ocean and not throw things into it that make them sick!

The goby was my favorite because he helped the shrimp and they worked together!

My favorite part was the dolphins and sharks!

Explore Coral Reefs, The Adventures of Ocean Annie, Makaio and Fringy the Ichthyologist Fish appealed to everyone! The content includes engaging and interactive environmentalist messages. In the words of the Jury Manager, “The production quality is through the roof.”
