Annie Crawley attends Beneath the Sea 2010 to be inducted into the Women Divers Hall of Fame

(Santa Barbara, CA- March 25, 2010) Join Dive Into Your Imagination founder, Annie Crawley, on Saturday night as she will be inducted into the Women Diver’s Hall of Fame along with nine other accomplished Ocean women at the Beneath the Sea 2010 Awards Dinner on March 27, 2010. This prestigious award is given to the most accomplished women divers in the world.

This will be the 34th Annual Exposition for Beneath the Sea, one of the largest consumer trade shows in the world. The convention opens on Friday evening and the trade show floor will be open until Sunday evening. The “Meet the Fish N’ Famous” event on Friday raises money for Ocean Pals, a non-profit that educates children about the Ocean. Attendees will be able to meet Stan Waterman, Mike deGruy, Dr. Phil Nuytten, and the Women Diver’s Hall of Fame. The weekend-long event also features the International Underwater Film Festival, the Divers Alert Network Conference, and a Marine Careers Program. Living up to its name as the largest consumer scuba and dive travel show, more than 300 booths will be exhibiting. Beneath the Sea is a non-profit award-winning organization committed to raising awareness about the ocean to all ages, especially children. The event provides a venue for all types of divers to gather, share stories, and learn the newest about scuba diving.

The Women Diver’s Hall of Fame gathers annually at dive conventions such as Beneath the Sea so that their prestigious members can attend and provide workshops and seminars fitting their expertise to the public. The organization currently holds 146 members and is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.

Annie Crawley gained her prowess as a diver for the past two decades. As an underwater photographer and filmmaker, scuba diving instructor and boat captain, she traveled the world for nearly the past two decades, specializing in wildlife under the sea. Having sold her car and traveling with her underwater camera housings, Annie lived true adventure exploring Indonesia, Galapagos, Papua New Guinea, Australia, New Zealand, plus many more areas. She spent 8 hours underwater a day for years. Annie has been awarded three grants by Save Our Seas foundation for her educational and entertaining products. Last summer she traveled with Project Kaisei and Scripps Institution to the North Pacific Gyre to study the Garbage Patch in the middle of the Pacific. She also is an SSI 5000 Platinum Pro Award winner. As founder and CEO of Dive Into Your Imagination, she is changing the way a new generation views the ocean.

While attending Beneath the Sea to accept her induction Annie Crawley will also promote Sensational Seas Two with Stan Waterman. You can find her at the REEF booth at 2:00 PM on Saturday afternoon!
