An avid underwater photographer and videographer, Annie Crawley wanted to combine her passion for marine life and camera skills to become a spokesperson for our oceans. Ten years later, Annie has become one of America’s leading ocean-environmental speakers and educators for the people who will be shaping our future: children. After founding "Dive Into Your Imagination," a full-service media production company, Annie began transporting students on an imaginary dive journey around the world to help them learn about respect and responsibility while engaging their imagination. Attend the largest dive, travel and Oceans exposition in America, Beneath the Sea 2011. You can meet celebrities, attend special events, riveting seminars, in-depth workshops and an all new international film festival!
The exhibit hall opens on Friday March 25, 2011 and runs through Sunday, March 27, 2011. All day long on Friday, Saturday and Sunday you can attend in-depth diving seminars and workshops. BTS kicks off on Friday with the Fish N’ Famous Gala, Buffet and Benefit Silent Auction. This year’s guest list includes Stan Waterman, David Doubilet, Jen Hayes, Dr. Sylvia Earle, Dr. Phil Nuytten, Jean Michel Cousteau, Annie Crawley and other members of the Women Divers Hall of Fame and International Divers Hall of Fame. This event is a benefit for the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital at Westchester Medical Center.
Producer and Filmmaker Annie Crawley will be giving two free seminars focusing on underwater photography and video. Dive Into Your Imagination is excited to announce DIVE INTO CALIFORNIA has just won KIDS FIRST ALL STAR AWARD! Kids First! Jurors are trained to evaluate programs on a variety of levels including appeal to audience, content, production quality of program, and motivational, educational and social benefits. In the KIDS FIRST! Ocean Guardian Schools Grants - California
Up to $100,000 of grant funds are now available for California schools to create a project that focuses on current issues affecting local watersheds and the ocean while promoting best environmental practices.
General project pathway options include: Water quality monitoring, watershed restoration, marine debris, schoolyard habitats/gardens, re-use/reduce/recycle.
Funding will range from $2,000 to $6,000 per project, depending on the scope of the conservation project proposed by the school. Schools will receive funds to implement their projects. Schools may apply for funding of one-year projects scheduled to begin in the fall 2011 semester.
Eligibility: Public and private K-12 schools in the California counties of Contra Costa, Sonoma, Marin, San Francisco, Alameda, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, Monterey, San Benito, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura.
Complete applications due by May 1, 2011 to qualify.
