Reef Check is a foundation dedicated to protecting and rehabilitating reefs worldwide. 2008 is International Year of the Reef, which is a yearlong celebration to raise awareness of coral reefs and related ecosystems, and empower people to take simple actions that benefit coral reefs worldwide. In honor of International Year Of The Reef, Reef Check is putting on a contest as to see who can sing the best official IYOR ocean song and create the most intriguing video. Reef Check Foundation is running this contest with the goal of getting people to learn more about the marine environment and of course to have fun. School Library Journal is known as the world’s largest reviewer of books, multimedia and technology for children and teens. The School Library Journal recently reviewed the DVD Who Lives In The Sea. They touched on the exceptional videography and focus on the knowledge that the DVD conveys. The diverse creatures of the sea are the “stars” of this review!

Santa Barbara, Calif. - Annie Crawley’s job is a long way away from the Chicago neighborhood she grew up in, but it is her passion to bring her work home to kids back home and around the world.

Annie, a filmmaker and resident of Santa Barbara, also considers herself an “ocean environ-educator” and wants children everywhere to experience the beauty and magic of the real ocean creatures.
