Humbug Damselfish are some of my favorite fish that live on the reef. When you see them in action, you will understand why. I think they are funnier than any cartoons! They are small fish, when full grown they are just bigger than the size of a 25 cent piece and everything wants to eat them. They make their homes in hard table-top corals. Watch them as they dance above the reef
They are so funny to watch! They build nests in the coral like all damselfish. These fish live in colonies though. Once the find their place on the reef, they will stay there forever. When they get scared, they dive into the protection of the hard coral. A fish must have really strong teeth if they can bite through the hard coral. The table top coral acts like a labyrinth, or maze, for these fish as they dart in, out, up and down! They are some of my favorite fish to watch under the sea! To learn more about fish, check out the DVD, What Makes A Fish, A Fish!
