A renaissance woman, Annie Crawley, has many accolades under her belt. Trained as a journalist, with a communications degree from the University of Illinois, she has lived throughout the South Pacific; traveled with the New Zealand rodeo; created DIVE INTO YOUR IMAGINATION®; and currently works as a producer, photographer and motivational speaker. Annie specializes in the underwater realm as a Scuba Instructor Trainer and a 100 ton US Coast Guard Captain. Annie has a corporate and nonprofit background including working as the training coordinator for the Public Service department at The Field Museum in Chicago. She has lived all over the world: Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Galapagos, Indonesia, Belize, and Singapore. When asked where home is you might hear her snicker, “The world is my home. I realized the world was flat before they wrote a book about it! We are all connected, have the same needs and wants, we just do things a little bit differently!”

Annie currently bases herself in Santa Barbara, California. Annie has spoken to tens of thousands of people since the release of Ocean Life A to Z a book/dvd published by Reader’s Digest in February 2007. Annie created the bilingual DVD collection: Dive Into Your Imagination®, Visions of the Sea and The Camera Coach, Your Guide to Creating Underwater Video. Annie’s children products are produced using real footage from around the world and translated into English and Spanish.

Entertaining Environmental Education

This presentation can be given to all audiences: kids, parents and teachers. You will be encouraged to dive into your imagination, as you watch real ocean animals and learn science, marine biology, animal behavior and environmental education. Annie teaches, “Everything we do on land affects the ocean, whether we live in the middle of America or on one of our coasts.” Intertwined in her presentations are geography lessons, ocean facts and ways everyone, everyday can make a difference to our environment. “The ocean is responsible for nearly 70% of the oxygen we breathe,” Annie shares, and she realizes children are our future,“I want to entertain and educate children and their parents about the ocean. I want you to fall in love with all the creatures of the ocean because, we protect what we love. I produced the Dive Into Your Imagination series and the Words for Life collection to fill a void in the marketplace.” All of Annie's materials support the different ways in which people learn.
