We started off with another time lapse. It was a rainy morning and everyone woke up slowly. We have in camera tools like the time lapse when filming and then during post production elements like slowing down the video are also possible. Notice the different camera angles we use. Learn how to maximize your ability to shoot.

If you are 6 feet tall and filming people from your height, you will be looking down at the tops of people’s heads. It is important that you need to move your body with your camera. You have to physically squat up and down the whole time you are filming.
Also when you have the camera, you need to always be thinking. In this one minute piece we have kids playing cards, starting a fire, eating breakfast, greeting people, kids running away to the woods, brushing their teeth, in their pajamas, losing their teeth. You can easily capture a mood of the party simply by shooting a lot of different angles.
VIDEO CHALLENGE: What do you need on every shot in order for it to be easy to edit? HANDLES! A handle is a few extra seconds on the beginning and end of every clip that you need for your edit. Many people make the mistake of shooting too much or not enough. No shot on screen usually lasts more than 6-10 seconds long, but you need to film at least 20 seconds in order to get a good handle on your shot. Sometimes you might shoot longer and then choose to keep only the best part of the clip.
