In our family eating, s’mores, campfires and singing are all the key essence of camping. We can not go camping without building a bonfire. But even though we might have done this every night, we would not film it every night.

When telling your story it is important to be the in camera editor. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner on every trip, but we did not film every single meal. So when you are the story teller with the camera, you are constantly running through the parts of what is important and what is not.
VIDEO CHALLENGE: How do you shoot at night. We brought a battery operated light that we used for some of the night shots because the campfire scene was so important to us. But we also could shoot with the lantern lights and other artificial light. One of the brothers was the tender of the campfire and we built a huge one that needed to get documented on film!
