Ten years later, Annie has become one of America’s leading ocean-environmental speakers and educators for the people who will be shaping our future: children. Ocean Guardian Schools Grants - California
Up to $100,000 of grant funds are now available for California schools to create a project that focuses on current issues affecting local watersheds and the ocean while promoting best environmental practices.
General project pathway options include: Water quality monitoring, watershed restoration, marine debris, schoolyard habitats/gardens, re-use/reduce/recycle.
Funding will range from $2,000 to $6,000 per project, depending on the scope of the conservation project proposed by the school. Schools will receive funds to implement their projects. Schools may apply for funding of one-year projects scheduled to begin in the fall 2011 semester.
Eligibility: Public and private K-12 schools in the California counties of Contra Costa, Sonoma, Marin, San Francisco, Alameda, San Mateo, Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, Monterey, San Benito, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura.
Complete applications due by May 1, 2011 to qualify.

Come Snorkel, Scuba Dive, Explore and Discover with Ocean Annie and Kid’s Sea Camp for two weeks during the summer of 2011!
Join Kid’s Sea Camp and Annie Crawley in Utila at Utila Laguna Beach Resort in The Bay of Islands in Honduras June 25-July 2, 2011 and with Sam’s Tours in Palau August 19-28, 2011! Kid’s Sea Camp has been specializing in adventurous and safe family travel for more than ten years.
During November 2010, Annie Crawley joined Kid’s Sea Camp families in Palau, the experience was so exciting they are going back for more! These camps are for all ages whether you have children 2 or 3 years old or teenagers! When a child turns 4, they can participate in a PADI program that teaches them snorkeling skills and lets them try Scuba diving on the surface; 5-9 year olds can participate in the PADI Seal program and when a child turns 10, they can learn to scuba dive! Teenagers usually have their own boat with parents scuba diving on another! If you have non-divers in the family, there are shore excursions and many other non-diving activities. The destinations and tour operators chosen by Margo Peyton, Founder of Kids Sea Camp, are chosen because they meet the highest standards in the dive travel industry, and cater towards children! On Saturday and Sunday Annie will be sharing her knowledge through a few in-depth presentations and seminars. NMEA 2010: From the Mountains to the Sea
"The National Marine Educators Association (NMEA) brings together those interested in the study and enjoyment of both fresh and salt water and provides a focus for marine and aquatic studies all over the world." NMEA 2010 Conference will offer something for everyone through speakers, concurrent sessions, and evening events for networking.
